Throughout his career, Josh has fought tirelessly for senior citizens. The ever-rising cost of living on Long Island and New York City is a burden on senior citizens. As a legislator with an aging population, Josh has worked tirelessly to deliver for our seniors and will continue to do so in Congress.
In Office Josh…
- Fought to protect senior citizen property tax exemption so that our seniors can afford to retire in their current home
- Expanded availability of mental health and healthcare services for seniors in need so care is accessible to people of all ages
- Initiated Long Island’s first senior volunteer shopping program during Covid-19 and recruited volunteers to shop for 100’s of senior citizens who could not leave their homes
- Led charge to expand public transit options for seniors, such as expanding ABLE-RIDE to cover all areas of Nassau County and reimburse seniors with Uber and Lyft credits
In Congress Josh Will…
- Protect benefit programs like Medicare and Social Security so our seniors can get the benefits they’re rightly due after paying into the programs their entire lives
- Create new tax exemptions for seniors who no longer have kids attending public schools so that they can stay local
- Work with the U.S. Department of Transportation to expand federal credits for seniors to use services such as Uber or Lyft
- Expand Medicare services to include dental and vision to provide all-encompassing healthcare for our seniors
- Enshrine harsher penalties against those who orchestrate scams targeting seniors
